Privacy policy

This is a courtesy translation. In case of doubt, the German version is authoritative.

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of Art. 4 (7) GDPR is:

No data protection officer has been appointed, as the conditions of Art. 37 GDPR and Section 38 BDSG are not met.

2. Principle: no data collection

TacticBoard does not process any personal data on the provider's servers. The app works entirely offline. There are no user accounts, no registration, no analytics or tracking services, no advertising and no transfer of data to third parties.

3. What is stored on your device

All entries remain exclusively in your device's local storage. Stored are:

• the tactics you save – positions of players, opponents, balls, goals and training equipment, drawn lines, arrows and animation steps
• the labels you give to player markers, that is shirt numbers or names, as well as the names of saved tactics
• your settings for language and field size
• a note that the quick guide has already been shown

This data is stored using the browser technique localStorage inside the app's protected directory. It is never transmitted. Uninstalling the app or clearing the app data in your device settings removes it completely. Individual tactics can be deleted in the app at any time.

4. Note on entering other people's names

If you enter the names of players, you process personal data under your own responsibility. As this data never leaves the device, nothing is transmitted to the provider. Please still observe the rules of your club or school. For underage players we recommend using only shirt numbers, first names or initials.

Please also note that exported images and GIF files visibly contain the labels of the player markers. Sharing such files also shares the names they contain.

5. Importing a squad from the clipboard

The “paste squad” function lets you take text from your device's clipboard in order to place players on the field automatically. The clipboard is accessed only when you explicitly tap the button; depending on your device the operating system may ask for additional permission. The text is evaluated in memory only and is not transmitted. You can also paste the text into the input field by hand instead.

6. Permissions

The app requests no permissions for camera, microphone, contacts, location or telephony. When you export an image, a GIF animation or a tactics file, the file is created on your device and passed on through your device's share or save function. Where the file goes from there is entirely your decision.

7. Internet connections

The versions distributed through Google Play and the App Store contain all required program libraries in the installation package and do not establish any network connections on their own.

The freely accessible web version at simaehlmann-cloud.github.io/TacticBoard may, in exceptional cases, load the libraries for image and GIF export from the content delivery network cdnjs.cloudflare.com if the bundled files are unavailable. For technical reasons your IP address is transmitted to Cloudflare in that case. The operator is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in reliably providing the export function. This transmission does not occur in the store versions of the app.

8. Obtaining the app through an app store

When downloading and purchasing the app through Google Play or the Apple App Store, the respective operator independently processes data (such as account, device, payment transaction and time of download). The provider of this app has no influence over this. The privacy policies of the respective operator apply:

9. Your rights

You have the rights to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection under Art. 15 to 21 GDPR, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. As no personal data is stored by the provider, requests for information or erasure addressed to the provider will generally come to nothing. You can delete all data yourself in the app at any time.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy will be adapted whenever app functions change in ways that are relevant to data protection. The version currently in force is available in the app and on this page.
